Teaching Philosophy
As a teacher, I believe it is my job to inspire. My definition of inspiration embodies respect, creativity, enlightenment and passion which I strive to ingrain in my students. I find that high expectations instill a sense of discipline and artistry that help to achieve these characteristics. While it is important to incorporate honesty in teaching, I have found encouraging ways of being critical which spark a desire to be outstanding. I also challenge my students to experiment with their own ideas in the practice room. This not only encourages them to become critical listeners and efficient players, but additionally helps them strengthen their unique artistic voice.
