To be competitive in the field of music, discipline is necessary. Honest criticism from the teacher helps to create the self-discipline which compels a student to strive for improvement, even if at times that criticism is difficult to accept. Critical feedback is a key process in developing our craft and encourages students to continue realizing their potential. Through a combination of structure, confidence building, and positive reinforcement, students learn to self-motivate. By complementing a demanding set of goals with a positive atmosphere I am able to create a successful learning environment.
Most importantly, I am very enthusiastic about fostering a sense of community among the students and colleagues that I work with. In my relationship with my students, I prioritize respect and hard work while emphasizing the importance of diversity and compassion. The best way to fully nurture this sense of community within my studio is by being easily accessible and approachable. In my opinion, community is one of the most rewarding benefits a musician encounters in their profession. Along with this, I promise to give my students the best support and opportunities that I can provide them.
